Letters<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

–<\/p>\n\n

I have a fondness for<\/p>\n\n

The writing and receiving of letters.<\/p>\n\n

I don\u2019t mind those that are typed,<\/p>\n\n

Composed upon machine with perfected keys<\/p>\n\n

So that individuality must come<\/p>\n\n

Deciphered from the author\u2019s words.<\/p>\n\n

I must confess though that<\/p>\n\n

I much prefer those missives<\/p>\n\n

Written by hand, in pen,<\/p>\n\n

Where I can decipher<\/p>\n\n

Whether they hurried to<\/p>\n\n

Write what they wished, or<\/p>\n\n

Took time to craft their letter<\/p>\n\n

As if they were curating our friendship<\/p>\n\n

With each carefully chosen word.<\/p>\n\n

Or maybe it\u2019s a lover who\u2019s written<\/p>\n\n

An amorous note, wishing to leave<\/p>\n\n

Something more intimate<\/p>\n\n

Than letters on a screen,<\/p>\n\n

Which are uniform and neat,<\/p>\n\n

The antithesis of love.<\/p>\n\n

But alas in this modern day<\/p>\n\n

Where texts and emails,<\/p>\n\n

Phone calls and dm\u2019s abound<\/p>\n\n

I who, is old of soul, still waits<\/p>\n\n

For a letter to arrive by post. <\/p>\n\n
