Once I heard, the whistle of a bird<\/p>

as I wandered deep in the wood.<\/p>

Softly I stepped, so not to upset<\/p>

and cause flight from whence she stood.<\/p>

Long did I search, for the bird and her perch<\/p>

haunted by specters of silvery sound.<\/p>

Never did my gaze, in that forested maze<\/p>

find what I fervently wish to be found.<\/p>

–<\/p>

Long did I grin, because I knew deep within<\/p>

concealed was she amongst the trees.<\/p>

So silently I stood, deep in the wood,<\/p>

attuned to her voice on the breeze.<\/p>

–<\/p>

Every once in awhile, I catch myself smile<\/p>

as her song serenades me again.<\/p>

For once I stood, deep in the wood,<\/p>
